mhmm....

well, this is shortish, but i do like it. its very high energy the whole way through, but that doesn't really bother me because the length is kept down. a very interesting listen, but not very friendly in that there is alot of noise. i don't really doubt that's what you were going for. i do like how it maintains the epic feel of the other stuff you've made that i've listened to-the epic opera-y vocal-type things in the background do give it that "battle" feel and contribute to the epic feeling. still, this isn't as strong as the other thing that i reviewed that you've made more recently, but i was interested in this one because it is a different genre than the other stuff you make, and you do it well.
its a very nice track.

ProfessorChaos22 responds:

Fair enough. Thanks for the informative and mature reviews you have provided. This song is purely Industrial, I am currently working with a guitarist and another programmer on this song. It's going to be much longer.
I usually write classical stuff, but I do like to listen to heavy industrial, so I decided to give it a shot.
Thanks again!

Very, very strong.

sounds professional. it really does. wouldn't seem out of place in some sort of medieval video game/movie or something.
everything is perfectly coordinated, but the beginning and the end are standouts, as they should be. the middle is really good too, its just not nearly as energetic or exiting as the other parts--its more for suspense. the song really feels like it goes somewhere, and it is certainly very, very epic. the drums are very, very strong.
really, the only minor complaint i have with this track is that the main melody seems a bit common. as in, it gives the "have i heard this before?" feeling, even though i know i haven't. it just seems very similar to the melodies for alot of other songs like this. this might just be me, though.

this is a very, very good song, sounds professional, and is very refreshing compared to what i normally find on the audio portal.

ProfessorChaos22 responds:

Thanks for the review, and yes I was going for "Have I heard this before" sound. It's actually inspired from the Superman Theme Midway March. But it's not the same, Midway March is in a Major key dominantly, mine is a minor key.
Thanks again!

loops!

well, i see you're using garageband. i use garageband too. but it looks like you're just using the preset loops, and that's sorta lame. if you're just trying to learn and play around that's fine-i did that too-but it really shows in the final product. my favorite thing about garageband is the ability to edit all the software sounds to the minutest detail and to play with all the distortions and most importantly, to write your own stuff.

so i'd really be much more interested in something you make completely from scratch, if you let me know when you make that, i'd be sure to listen.

if you have the time, check out my newest song (mostly made with garageband :) ) "As the Ocean Retreats". i'd really appreciate a review/listen.

This isn't really my best work at all, so, I'm not hurt. Listen to my other work, they're much better.

Something different, something real

This is a very nice track. I listened to it earlier today, before you reviewed one of my tracks, with the intention of writing a review. But I had no idea what to say. The music itself is infectious, the beat and almost far-east sounding plucking fits very well. And I totally dig the way it slows down to a crawl and picks up again. The sounds you used at this part were perfect. It was a very cool, very sobering effect for what is an otherwise energetic song. In fact, my only problem with the entire song was how frequently it happened. I think it may have been more poignant if it had been more sparsely used. Also, the song itself gets sorta repetitive, but not to the point of annoyance because its such an interesting listen.

So a really, really good job.

fast.

I noticed you reviewed two of my songs, and called them both original :o.

Anyways, this isn't very good. Let's seeee, its fast. This is a fast song. The beat isn't awful. The melody thing is pretty fast also.

Someday, you're going to submit a reviewable thing. Then, I'll review it. That'll be fun.
I'm totally looking forward to that.

BlackPlastic responds:

Probably not

The People's Anthem.

First off, the title is very fitting, this does indeed seem alot like an anthem of sorts. So good job in nailing down whatever idea you were focusing on for this.

The very beggining wasn't great-the synth kept the beat but the melody was very simplistic and the sound itself wasn't great.
The entire first part has the same problems-very simple sounding, not great layering, and a lacking melody.
Thankfully, the later parts add tons of sounds that fit, and at its best this song is very good. I'm not so sure it works as much as an opening, because the begginging does leave a sour taste in my mouth (ear?) but I'd have to hear the whole 'album' as a whole before passing judgement on that.

Despite the iffy beggining, and the very end which isn't much better, this song does have its high points, and those points are very good. So good job overall on this track.

If you have the time, I'd love it if you listened to/reviewed my newest song, "Enjoy Your Stay". Thanks.

Thanks for the review, one of the most helpful I ever got :)
I know it wasn't the best sounding, but it's not my worst either >.>
I'm still a beginner at all this computer-music creating. It takes a long time to fiddle and create a good melody, and time is something I rarely have.
I'm good at creating melodies and things on the piano, but I rarely remember them.
The tracks to the album are spread out on my page. There are 9 tracks so far, and another track is in the making.
I'll try to make this one one of my best.

And I'll gladly check our your songs :)

Greek Fire...

I hate to give a bad review, especially if this is your first attempt at a genre, but I really didn't enjoy listening to this.
Here's why:
Mostly, because it felt slapped together. You have a bunch of different synth sounds, all making seemingly random melodies, thrown in and out at apparently random times. You've got a bit of wierd off-tempo things going on at times, and the bass goes in and out at pretty wierd spots.
What made this problem worse was that I really didn't like any of the sounds, except maybe the bass. I don't know what you're working with here, but really spend alot of time playing with whatever software you've got to try to produce sounds that you enjoy alot and know other people will enjoy. If you did that with this, then ignore that last bit and I'll just leave it at I didn't find the sounds at all to my liking.
Really, I just need to stress spending time on making these things and listening to them over and over again until you think they're as perfect as you can make them. Because while I obviously have no idea how long you spent on this, it really seems as though you didn't put much time or effort into this at at. It's a pretty short loop, and it has no cohesiveness at all.

So keep working on this, and I'm sure you'll do better in the future. Not trying to seem mean here, but was this an april fool's joke? Listening to some of your older stuff, its all at least bit better than this. So if it's a joke, and I no have reason to feel terrible for asking, I'm sure your next one will be better.

Anyways, I'll assume this isn't a joke, and just say that I hope you keep working at making songs and I hope you improve.
If you have the time, would you check out my most recent song, "Finding the Pulse"?

I would really appreciate a listen and a review, thanks.

Hazard-Rush-Studios responds:

No, this wasn't a joke, more of a coincidence, but you were correct; I only spent roughly 20 minutes on this.

Four times Perfection

nice of you to make a song for your dad.

and an appropriate birthday song, too. obviously very trancy. i loved the background noise, and the sparseness of the beat. the clap, especially, came in at just the right point. very good rhythm. i didn't love the main synth, it was a bit... boring?, but the melody was good. and the sounds you add later in the song to augment that do their purpose well.

a very, very soothing track. maybe not as long as it could have been, but very well put together, almost gossamer sounding.

so great job.

BMC-Audio responds:

wow, thanks alot dude. i didnt expect to get this much positive feedback. i tried to give it a Royksopp feel, cus that sounds really cheerful to me, just soft, easy electronic. I agree the synths were pretty basic, (besides the arpegio, i thought that was pretty awesome! ) i didnt spend too much time picking them out. thanks again, i apreciate it!

Carnaval charMS.

So I started listening to this, and I have to admit, I didn't want to like it. I hate carnivals, and mellow songs are usually boring and too peppy for my musical tastes. But this really was very well put together, with some very good sounds, some great subtleish changes throughout. The synths were very well done.

Still, it was peppy, and maybe a bit too melodic for my taste. But even if its not my favorite song, I can tell a ton of effort went into making a very nice piece. So good job, keep it up.

Music-story responds:

You don't like mellow songs? Well they are good once in a while. That goes the same for all other types of songs. I guess I made you like it a bit. Thanks for review and vote. Bye for now.

Default Song

The beggining sounded like you were dialing a telephone in front of a fan. It was boring, and annoying. I'm not trying to be mean, but listen to it for yourself before submitting it. Then, it changes sort of randomly and you've got an ok sounding synth that's just looped and sped up and down. Then there's a new sound. And it starts over.

Not really a composition that screams "I spent a week on this". It seems like you're new at this, so try spending time learning and experimenting. Above all else, put some real effort into your submissions, and they'll turn out ok.

If you have the time, could you listen to my new song, "Beliefs Breaking Away"? I'd really appreciate a review. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=1450070
