Yeahhh....

That was really awesome.
I love, towards the end, when all the sounds are going at once, then it fades into the heart-pounding type beat.
All the sounds in this are great, except maybe that one part near the beggining when the really high pitched synth is going. It works, but its not perfect, and gets pretty annoying sounding, especially at the end when it seems to go on forever. That part could have been shortened. At that point, its sorta painfull 'cos there's not much background to distract from it. But it eventually ends, and pretty well too.
Anyways, this is still a great loop/song.

If you get the chance, could you listen/review my newest track? http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=1450070&sub=751

I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Keep it up.

Pretty good...

You've got a good song here, especially for a first submission. I liked the beginning, where every sound came in at what sounded like the exact right moment. It did get very repetitive, so work on that. Otherwise, the melody/riff was nice and the sounds went together well.

So good job.

If you have the chance, could you listen/review my latest track, "Enmity"? http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=1450070
It'd be much appreciated, and keep it up!

Drakkin responds:

thanks for the review, and I'd be glad to return the favor. thanks for the positive notes, and I'll definitely be working on the repetitiveness on anything I submit next :P

Hmm...

Ok, so you're just starting out. That's fine. Here are some suggestions:
Try to keep the stuff interesting. I'm don't use FL, so I'm not sure exactly what to do in your case, but try to establish a general melody, rhythm, and sound for your songs. This will, at least, give them some recognizable structure, as opposed to random sounding sounds over a very slow beat.
If FL, like garageband does, has a generator where you can make your synth sounds, and has a very deep level of customization (and I'm sure it does) then try to experiment with it and not just use the sounds given to you.
Also, make sure your beat(s) is interesting.

So yeah, keep working at it.

BlackPlastic responds:

HEY WOAH NOT SO CLOSE! NO MEANS NO!

OK so clearly not a real song...

So this was cool to listen to once, kinda. But obviously you didn't mean for this to be a song type song, so I'm going to go ahead and try to find a more reviewable track that you tried on.

So real reason for reviewing this one is that I'm sorta curious as to what the point is. Is it meant to be a more sound effect type thing, or a more experimental thingy, or what?

BlackPlastic responds:

Good luck finding a reviewable track

Nightmares?

Hmmm...this seemed more upbeat than scary to me. Like, obviously not all shiny and happy, but until that very fast synth came in and overtook the song it was a more cheerful, if a bit sad, tune. Or I at least thought so.

Either way, the beat is awesome, and the breaks in the song that sort of interupt the happy are all well-placed and cool sounding. And the main melody is beautiful.

Again, an amazing track from you and your friend. Such good stuff here.

DistortionResonance responds:

Thanks we were going for a sounds that was more misshapen than scary.

Hmm....

Ok, I really didn't like the beggining. I wish there was some sort of intro or build up, instead of just starting full-on and going from there. And going from there, I liked the distortion on the guitars, and I liked the drums. But there wasn't really an established melody, nothing that stuck in my head, and at times the lead guitar just sounded clumsy. Still, cool sounding, and good job.

If you have the time, care to listen/review my new song, "Gnawing Waves"?

Thanks, and keep it up.

newskies responds:

hey thanks! I'm gonna listen to ya song, alright!

Hmmm....

Really catchy, great synths and background noise throughout. Dark sounding, and a good beat. Great sounds, and a catchy melody.

Repetitive, and I didn't like the way everything changed all of a sudden in the middle and then quickly changed back. It could have been the end of the song, but I'm not sure.

Either way, good job.

Will you check out my new song, Gnawing Waves?

Cool...

Sandstorm is obviously a song we've all heard before, so its cool to see remixes like these.
I like how your version changes alot of the sounds of the song, while still keeping the melody intact and keeping the high level of energy in the song.

I don't really have much to say, but simply put this sounds good and is close to the origional while still having unique qualities.

So you did a very good job, keep it up.

DJ-DaVinster responds:

Yes, that's why I remixed it. Thanks for the compliments! I'm going to try & keep this style for future remixes & stuff. I'm changing the bass so it doesn't sound like it controls the whole song.

Again, thatnk for the compliment and review!

Fitting..

I love songs that have a clear concept, and a great execution.

This is certainly one of them. I like the familiar sounding beginning, and the transition into the more techno-ish stuff. The vocals aren't exactly clear, but they fit extremely well with the sounds, and they really augment the song. The melody is catchy, and some of the vocal effects were very well done. The beat is great, the synths are great. Maybe if the vocals were a little louder, it would be better; but as it is now this song is easily one of the best I've heard on here. Only thing I really wish is that the song was longer.

Great job, and I hope there's more coming from you and your friend.

DistortionResonance responds:

There is, and hopefully soon as well. We are working on a... I don't know what it is, really. Its like glitchcore + Goa + Ambient.

Its quite the piece, so you should keep your eyes open for it :)

Captivating....

Very calm, yet slightly unsettling. Great stuff going on in the background, and the guitar was very clear and was sparse enough to add a great sound to the song. This is really, really nice stuff.

Keep it up.

WinTang responds:

Will do, thanks a lot!
